Learn how to create and record music using the powerful production capabilities of the digital audio workstation Logic Pro X.
Are you a musician, songwriter, or beginner producer hoping to capture and publish your music in a more professional way? Logic Pro X is one of the most versatile and affordable digital audio workstations (DAWs) for making and recording music available on the market. It's used by pro-level producers, songwriters, engineers, and composers of all types to achieve the sound they want.
This course will teach you how to compose, record, edit, mix, and add effects to music in Logic Pro X. We will help you get comfortable navigating your way around the environment and using Logic's many features to express yourself creatively in the ways you want. No previous knowledge required. We'll get you up and running creating and editing complete tracks before you know it.
Follow along as Martin D. Fowler (Composer for Limetown, This American Life, and more) demonstrates how to compose, create, and produce with Logic.
Martin composes and produces music for commercial, educational, and artistic media, and records and performs internationally with many NYC-based artists. He also produces original electro and house music and remixes as MDFX, plus trap/jungle/bass music and remixes as WNNR, and will release his debut solo record later this year. His favorite cloud type is the lenticular cloud.

Our expert mentors do whatever it takes to ensure that you achieve your musical goals for the course and leap forward in your learning.
This course is for instrumentalists, songwriters, aspiring producers, or people with no prior musical knowledge who want to learn how to make music using Logic Pro X. Perhaps you've explored GarageBand a couple of times, or perhaps you've never played music with a computer in your life. Either way, we'll get you comfortable navigating this sophisticated software and using it to create music.
You'll learn the essential tools for working with audio and MIDI in Logic and some basic compositional concepts. You'll work with tons of Logic's built-in features, synthesizers, samplers, and loops. You'll also engage in deep critical listening and analysis activities to help your workflow in Logic Pro X.
You'll need to own or purchase Logic Pro X on the App Store. Some additional gear is recommended to get the most out of the course, but if all you have is a laptop and Logic, you'll still be able to follow along. Recommended additional gear: headphones, speakers, MIDI controller, audio interface, and microphone.
